Welcoming and Listening to Children Turns Love Into Action

Children need to feel welcomed, protected, and listened to for their mental health to grow strong. When adults truly listen to children and take them seriously, children feel safe, valued, and less alone. For children especially, knowing they are accepted helps reduce fear and loneliness.
Today’s message reminds us of the importance of listening and care.

Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me.” These words remind us that children matter deeply. When we welcome children, protect them, and listen to what they say, we turn love into action. This helps children feel calm, respected, and important.

When children grow up feeling ignored or pushed aside, they may feel afraid or unimportant. But when they are welcomed and heard, they learn that their voices matter. They gain confidence, feel safer expressing themselves, and build trust in adults and communities.

Welcoming and listening to children:
Reduces fear and loneliness
Helps children feel safe and valued
Builds confidence and trust
Creates caring and protective environments

Love for children is shown through our actions. Taking time to listen, offering protection, and creating safe spaces makes a lasting difference in a child’s life.

This Mental Health Month, let us welcome children with open hearts and listening ears. When children feel precious and protected, their minds grow healthier and their hope grows stronger
