Harare with a population of 167 462 people and a poverty prevalence of 64, 5%. A report by FAO indicated that Zimbabwe is highly affected

households as well as other vulnerable families with high numbers of orphans and vulnerable children including those who are depended on
caregivers that are elderly, chronically ill, having disabilities and/ or low- income. The overall goal of the intervention was to support 410 food insecure households in Epworth, Zimbabwe with essential early action to mitigate anticipated food crisis through growing fast-maturing nutritious seeds and keeping poultry. 3 irrigation systems including drilling of boreholes and installation at 3 established project community gardens (Muguta, Domboramwari and Mabvazuva Schools). Each project vegetable garden received seeds (Rape Rampart, Spinach and Carrot), fertilizers and pesticides required for each project vegetable garden. While the 250 HH in poultry received each HH 5 point of lay birds, a bag of feed, vaccines and a drinker.
