Protecting Children Through Child Friendly Churches - External Evaluation Report

February 2022 and July 2023 with an overall goal that “vulnerable children are protected from abuse and exploitation through child friendly churches countering harmful norms and practices”. The project was designed to contribute to reduce abuse and exploitation of children in target communities that included Mbare, Hatcliffe, Hopley, Mabvuku/Tafara and Epworth. In this evaluation, the consultant assessed programme performance guided by the OECD-DAC criteria (focusing on relevance, effectiveness, efficiency, impact, and sustainability).
Guided by the OECD-DAC criteria for assessing programme performance, the evaluation adopted a participatory cross-sectional study design that employed a mixed methods approach, performing a comparison of project data at baseline (beginning of project) and endline (end of project) to measure the change obtained.
