Teach your Children to Make Good Choices: GTC Day23
Life is filled with choices. From the smallest decisions to the biggest ones, the ability to choose wisely shapes a child’s future. That is why today, we focus on the importance of teaching children not just what to choose, but how to think, weigh options, and make decisions for themselves.
Why Good Choices Matter
When children are guided to think through decisions, instead of simply being told what to do, they develop confidence, responsibility, and independence. Allowing them to have control over small things in their environment, such as how to arrange their study space or what book to read, builds self-belief and resilience.
The ability to make good choices also equips them to resist negative influences, avoid harmful behaviors, and identify risks before they cause harm. In today’s world, this skill is one of the greatest protections we can give them.
Today’s Key Message
“Life is full of choices and decisions. Educate and encourage your child to think and choose for themselves. Giving children control over their environment helps build their self-confidence. The ability to make good choices empowers them to identify and avoid risks, negative influences, and harmful behavior.”
The Benefits of Teaching Decision-Making
By giving children room to think and choose, they:
- Build confidence in their own judgment
- Learn to take responsibility for their actions
- Grow resilient against peer pressure and harmful influences
- Develop problem-solving skills that last a lifetime
Call to Action
On this twenty-third day of the campaign, let us commit to raising children who are capable of making wise choices. Instead of only giving instructions, let’s ask guiding questions, encourage reflection, and celebrate thoughtful decisions.
Every child who learns to choose well today becomes an empowered adult tomorrow — able to lead, protect, and uplift their community.
