Viva Network Zimbabwe Launches the Good Treatment Campaign
Harare, Zimbabwe, September 1, 2025, Viva Network Zimbabwe (VNZ) is excited to announce the launch of the Good Treatment Campaign (GTC), which officially begins today and will run until the end of the month. This month-long initiative brings together churches, schools, organizations, communities, and families across Zimbabwe to champion one powerful cause: the good treatment of children.
The Good Treatment Campaign is built on the conviction that every child deserves love, respect, and protection. Originally piloted by Viva’s global networks in 2015, and now a building block in VNZ’s child protection strategy, the campaign emphasizes simple yet transformative actions that adults and children can take to create safer, healthier environments.
The Heart of the Campaign
The campaign focuses on nine key messages, which include:
- Affirming love for children
- Listening to and spending time with them
- Accepting children as they are and recognizing their potential
- Supporting children’s learning and instilling good values
- Teaching responsibility and conflict resolution
- Encouraging children’s participation in decision-making
- Educating and empowering children to cope with today’s challenges
- Exploring and learning together about generational issues
- Teaching children to care for the environment
Each week, two messages will guide the campaign’s focus, shared through activities, family discussions, sermons, school events, social media hashtags, and community outreach. By the end of the month, communities will have covered all nine themes, inspiring long-lasting change in how children are valued and treated.
Why It Matters
Childhood experiences shape the future of every individual. A child who feels loved, accepted, and heard is more likely to thrive academically, emotionally, and socially. Conversely, neglect and mistreatment leave deep scars that can affect a lifetime. Through the Good Treatment Campaign, VNZ and its partners aim to empower children to speak up, equip adults to listen and protect, and mobilize communities to act collectively in promoting children’s rights and well-being.
How to Participate
Everyone has a role to play:
- Churches and faith leaders can include GTC themes in sermons, Bible studies, and family devotions.
- Schools and organizations can integrate weekly themes into lessons, activities, or campaigns.
- Families and communities can hold discussions, share daily affirmations, and model good treatment at home.
- Children themselves are encouraged to become champions, sharing messages, leading peers, and practicing values of respect, love, and responsibility.
