More than a one-day event
The model uses a shared celebration as an opportunity for outreach, relationship-building and connection with projects or local organisations that can continue walking alongside children.
Celebration that opens doors
Viva-supported Christmas parties bring churches and organisations together around safe, welcoming events for children while creating pathways into longer-term relationships and support.

The model uses a shared celebration as an opportunity for outreach, relationship-building and connection with projects or local organisations that can continue walking alongside children.
Member churches and organisations can contribute complementary strengths, coordinate volunteers and reach children more effectively than isolated events would.
Planning should protect children’s dignity, manage consent and images carefully, prepare volunteers, avoid unnecessary data collection and ensure concerns can be reported safely.
Putting it into practice
Participation should be planned with VNZ and relevant network members, using current guidance and appropriate safeguarding arrangements.
