Your presence in your child’s life matters more than your presents: GTC Day 4
Good Treatment Campaign – Day 4
On Day 4 of the Good Treatment Campaign, we are reminded that our presence in a child’s life is more valuable than any gift we can give. Presents may last a moment, but presence leaves a lifelong impact.
Children thrive when they feel heard, valued, and understood. When we spend intentional time with them, whether through play, conversation, or simply being there… we strengthen bonds of trust and build a support system that carries them through life’s challenges. A child who feels listened to is more likely to listen in return, creating a cycle of respect, openness, and love.
This day’s message emphasizes three important truths:
- Presence is greater than presents – your time and attention mean more than material things.
- Listening creates connection – when children know we hear them, they respond with confidence and openness.
- Friendship builds trust – being a consistent friend to children ensures they always know they have someone to lean on.
As families, churches, schools, and communities, we are called to make time, not just give things. By being present, we lay the foundation for stronger, healthier, and more resilient children.
Let us continue to listen, spend time, and show love, because every child deserves to grow up feeling secure, valued, and supported.
