Story of change
From selling vegetables to family stability and health
A small seed grant helped Barbra expand her vegetable business, strengthen her health and support her son’s education.

Barbra Burawa, a vendor from Hatcliffe, used a USD 50 seed grant to expand her vegetable stall and diversify what she sold. The growth in customers and income helped her secure a recognised selling place by paying council fees.\n\nA more reliable income also enabled Barbra to afford a balanced diet while managing a chronic health condition. She was able to support her son to return to school and repeat Form 4, giving him another opportunity to complete his education.\n\nHer experience shows how targeted financial support, combined with determination and an existing livelihood, can contribute to stability across a household.
